Hi, i want to make the switch to 2.4ghz and like the sound of the frequency hopping spread spectrum used in the Futaba FASST sets, I was seriously considering purchasing one when my dad did, I had a play and the sticks feel utterly crap compared to the ones on my hitec eclipse, so I was wondering if I could buy futaba's nice technology in module form instead of the set with crappy futaba sticks and fit it to my eclipse to take advantage of it's nice sticks and get the best of both worlds at a reasonable price.

Hi,
I tried the TM-7-module in my Eclipse 7 and it worked.
I bought the module for a 9C, I never got. So it was laying around and I knew, that the Spectra-module work in Futaba-transmitters.
But, the antenna of the TM-7 is pointing downwards in the Eclipse7!
Or you can make it pointing away 90 degrees from the bottom of your transmitter, what I did for testing. I did a range check and everything was fine. So I flew my Bird of Time glider with it, as it was the biggest plane I have. So I could fly higher and farther away. No problems at all.
But there are some negative things:
- First of all, the modules TM-7 and TM-8 don't work with every receiver. Check the Futaba FASST Internetsite. This problem should be solved by now, as they replaced the R606 with the R616.
- I was missing some programming features on the Eclipse 7, which I needed for several planes. Before, I used my Polk's Hobby Tracker III for that. But that transmitter cannot be modified to 2.4 GHz and I would like to change completely away from 72 MHz. So I needed a different transmitter anyways and bought the 7C FASST.
I also got the 6EX. But this radio will be sold, as soon as Futaba offers a 9C FASST.
So I will sell the TM-7 and the Eclipse 7.

Would this have any effect on available features or functions? I've seen a few enigmatic posts here and there that mention "I lost a few functions, but...".
If the Eclipse 7 retains 100% functionality that would be wonderful. I'd still like to see a Hitec 2.4G module. Once I lock on to a brand, I like to stay consistent.
