Default RE: HITEC 2.4

I think so many people have asked that question over the last 18 months or so that Hitec have got tired of replying!

I'm nothing to do with Hitec but have an Optic 6 which I really like, so I'm as keen for a solution as anyone.

As I understand it, there are a few options...

Apparently, the RF module in the back of the Optic/Eclipse is pin-compatible with Futaba. This means that the Assan 2.4GHz module will fit. There is a guy in the UK, bugsb, on www.rcmf.co.uk who has been using it in one of his planes for a month or two now with no problems.

The corrollory to this is that, maybe, Futaba's own 2.4 module will fit, or the Futaba module made by Spektrum, although I do not know of anyone who has tried this.

Finally, I read on here (somewhere) that Hitec intend to issue an announcement before the end of the year, at least in the US. Who knows what that might be, but considering that JR have gone with Spektrum, my guess is that Hitec will not be developing their own system but will go with either Spektrum or Futaba...

Ofcourse, I could be completely wrong about that...

If you have an Optic 6 or Eclipse 7 you can go 2.4Ghz already by using a Spektrum, FASST, Assan or XPS module and matching receivers. Information on these options is available at: http://www.rcmodelreviews.com/spreadspectrumtests.shtml
