I have an Electron 6 Rx in a Viper (Pylon) and I've had two problems happen over the last month. First, several weeks ago I turned on the Tx, them Rx, and nothing happened. Tried several times, then it started working. I went ahead and turned it on and off a few times to try to duplicate, but it woked fine. Then this last weekend, I had a landing where the plane snagged a rough spot in the grass and knocked the landing gear off, not very hard to do on the Vipers. Didn't look like it hit hard or anything. When I went to pick up the plane, all servos were at full swing and not responding. I turned everything on and off several times, and then if started working again, but at this point I decided to quit... I know it might be a switch problem, but I wanted to see what you thought about sending the RX in for a check-up? Being it's random and not very repeatable, what do you think? The radio is an Optic 6....Thanks!

How old is the battery and switch harness? refer to:Black wire corrosion
2. How well was the RX protected for shock & vibration, even a "soft" landing can breakor damage acrystal or even a ceramic filter. refer: Hitec General Receiver FAQ

Good choice for me to bail out and not finish the races that day... I decided to try to duplicate the problems on the bench, lightly tap the switch, wires, Rx, jiggle everthing. Then it started acting up, jittering, no response at start up. I got my other Optic 6 out, everything was perfect. Back to the other Tx, problems again. Touch or wiggle module, and all problems happened! So it is a module connection problem. I know there was a problem with the first Optics (cases?) but both of these are not included in the build dates that had the problems, even though they are a few years old. Now what?

Fill out our [link=http://www.hitecrcd.com/Support/service%20form.pdf]SERVICE FORM[/link] and send in the Tx and module. Chances are it may just be a broken connection to a pin or ground from installing/removing the module.

On my Optic 6, I find that I need to take fine sandpaper to the transmitters' five prongs every once in a while. The symptom is that a light tap on the module during preflight checks causes some jittery responses from the servos.
