Default what does port..

mean on a engine? i am wanting to get a sh.28 engine for my savage, but i dont know the diff between a 3 port or a 8 port. thanks all

Ports mean the number of holes there are in the cylinder wall,

These are there to let air and fuel in and mix and also let exhaust gases out,

The 8 port sh motor will produce more power all round and rev higher than the 3 port.

Thanks man, is it true that the 8 port engines just beat the crap out of the (stock) savages. tear up stuff like diffs and dog bones. stock tranny etc? thanks man

I ran many gallons on my lrp30 savage xss,

Never broke anything,

the lrp30 is the big brother of the sh28 8 port,

The only thing I would upgrade is the stock clutch shoes to alloy ones.
