I'm only kidding, I still understand the appeal of Nitro, it just isn't very practical for me any more. You're probably right about relative cost, the start up costs of electric are substantial, but generally, due to pressure from multiple angles, Nitro is suffering in the polarity stakes in all areas except on the racetrack, which means prices are bound to go up. Less demand=less supply=lower volume=higher prices.

Not all fuels are created equal, and sometimes the lowest price may not always be the best value for your needs.............There are substantial differences in the protection capability of the different fuels, and the harder and higher you push your engines the more apparent these differences in the fuel will become.............. Most offroad fuels are unsafe to be used for onroad as they were never designed to withstand the loads and RPM of onroad racing...Most offroad engines are relatively low RPM so the fuels do not need to be as protective....The milder a engine is the less protection it needs, the wilder a engine is the more protection it needs........The more you baby a engine the less protection it needs, the more you push a engine the more protection it needs....Most off the shelf brands are ok to use for typical offroad racing with stock engines but will fall short when used in modified engines or more demanding applications like oval or top speed runs...............
