Thanks I kept running it till I ripped the bed clean off, now I'm just gonna run the front part and let the engine cage handle the rest haha.
lol Rimshot, I just went through a pullstart rewinding myself today. I've done it a bunch, so I had it wrapped in 45 min or so and mounted, hope your isn't a PIA to get back together. I just ran the LRP 30 for the first time today and it seems like a nice engine, sure this ones still rich but its got torque! (Its got nothing on my STS .30 lol )

RE: PICS OF YOUR SAVAGES !!
It turns out it was a torn O-ring in the rear backing plate. I also replaced the main carb o-rings too, just to make sure and sealed it up with some RVT silicone gasket maker. Hopefully it will solve the leaking!
I was unsuccessful with recoiling the spring in the pull start...
Guess I will have to place an order to Tower tonight
Rim
Edit: I also cut up my thumbs with that dang spring... I need a case of cold ones to cool my head for this frustrating day...

to protect your fingers maybe some medical/ductape around the fingers should protect against sharps
and it sucks to get your fingers cut up i got a nasty 1in cut on my thumb from ripping off a power wire and catching my thumb on the solder tab, [] thats why nitro's better no damn solder tabs, or solder that doesn't want to become undone...

FYI RTV is Not Fuel proof......Racer's Edge or Lucky 7 is what you need.

Lucky 7 and the Racer's Edge carb sealant are better, but not required.

Thanks Integra! I will see what happens with the RTV, if problems occur then I will go to Racer's Edge or Luck 7
And Lug: Check your p.m.'s!

^ I don't LOL... Highly unnecessary for carb and backplate sealing purposes, the debates been finished in the engine forum.

I think most weekend/ non serious hobbyists have agreed that RTV is perfectly suitable for our needs. Racers, go ahead run Lucky 7 and Threebond, no need to give out that kind of money on sealant for what some of us do here... In fact I just started using sealant in my engines a little while ago, after 6 engines, only one has been leaky..

Phew, Heated convo guys... I mean obviously ya'll both agree differently... Just call it as agree to disagree and be done... We understand that RTV is a sealant and can be used as a sealant but might deteriorate after fuel gets into it... I say if you want to use RTV rcnitrohead go for it, and Integra you keep using your Lucky 7. These products obviously suit the needs of ya'll differently.
Anyways!,
I think I'm going to just order a new pull start assembly today and be done with that dang spring... I'm gonna try to start it without the assembly with a socket that fits the starting rod that inserts into the one way bearing just so see if my RTV is gonna hold up...and see if it cured the leaks...

racers edge and Lucky 7 is cheaper then RTV and you complain like its a chore or something to use the right product for the intended job...Get over it...RTV is NOT nitro proof.

I used Permatex Ultra Copper on 3 of my engines with good results but I'm going to use Lucky 7 on the new LRP.30 [sm=shades_smile.gif]

RTV works fine if applied properly.
