Default SS kit w/non-plunger fuel tank & 3 shoe clutch??

Hey, my dad just finished building his SS kit and brought it over today for break-in and we noticed the fuel tank doesn't have the plunger for priming the carb. It's like the tank on the RTR version with the roto start setup. Also, we had to pull the engine at one point because the clutch was binding and I noticed he had a 3-shoe clutch. My ss didn't come with any of this stuff. I have the primer plunger and a 2 shoe clutch. Has anyone else got the same kit as my dad? I think the non plunger tank kinda sucks with a pull start engine because you can't easily put a finger over the exhaust outlet and pull to prime this big block. You need one hand to pull and one hand to hold the truck down while you do it. My LHS guy said the box was sealed from the factory and he could'nt control what they put in the kit so he didn't want to exchange the tank for a plunger type one. I could see living with the 3 shoe clutch but the tank seems like a mistake. What do you guys think? Later.

yes that is correct hpi has updated thier kits but also if ur dad would read all the papers in side they give u update notices all through the kit so all he has to do is read. how does the clutch bind up sounds like some hydro lock to me. take the plug out and pull the starter and spadow all da gas is gone and ur ready to run biotch. .02 TJ

if you put your foot on the roll par or the cooling head then one finger in front of the exhaust outlet and pull is should work fine. at least it does with me
