RE: stupid savage
Make sure that you pluged the servo in right. All the black wires should be on the same side. Chances are that you just fried your RX if you did it wrong. Do you have a fail-safe?[8D]

RE: stupid savage
I was driving my savage around last week and it just took off for no reason. I got both Remote and Receiver packs fully charged and there was no one else playing around with RC other then myself. Anyway, it hit the wall with full throttle and broke only 4 parts (chassis, electronic box, bent the front drive shaft, and throttle servo). I tested the fail-safe from my 3pk remote control after my heart stop [sm=punching.gif] and it was working fine [sm=confused.gif][sm=confused.gif][sm=confused.gif].
I think 100 bucks will put it back to life.
Here is the question: Should I buy the extend chassis or just get the regular stock one?

RE: stupid savage
even if those things mentioned above happen why wouldnt the fail safe stop the truck, I was under the empression thats what its for. seems the fail safe is a waste of money if it dont keep the truck from running away during any glitch. right?

RE: stupid savage
you may have a faulty failsafe causing your problem i had this with my dynamite, on my rc boat. My boat is gasoline, but uses a resistor spark plug so te spark doesnt interfere with the electronics. The failsafe would cause the boat to glitch, co im thinking you have a bad failsafe. I called dynamite, and they told me it was the spark plug, idiots. I would eleminate the failsafe, and test the truck. Just keep you leg in front of it to see if it works. That's all i can think of.

RE: stupid savage
Hello,
This may help you.......
My car done similar when the failsafe got wet... unclipped the failsafe case, sprayed with WD40 and dried off the excess with rag. All good, now its wrapped in plastic!
Been fine since.
Hope this helps.

RE: stupid savage
I got the ofna failsafe and it does say that it is suppose to stop the truck in the event of lost transmitter signal, low battery or interrupted signal.
so I would guess that you guys failsafes arent working.

RE: stupid savage
i use the stock radio and this never happened to me, but one possibility could be that your linkages are snapped or somthing is stopping your servo from coming back to neutral...

RE: stupid savage
The stock radio has the throttle reverse switch. If your failsafe activated and the throttle reverse switch on the stock radio was incorrect, then it would accelarate instead of BRAKE.

RE: stupid savage
It will scare me like h**l if this failsafe doesn't work with my new FG Monster Beetle. I mean if it hits the wall or a car then it will be ok but a human then it will brake some one' ankle. Now I'm scare to play with it and i'm sure that my MB won't have insurance

RE: stupid savage
Hmmm... I have a 3PM tx and i've been temporarily using a traxxas servo for my throttle (instead of my busted hitec).
I had to reverse the servo on my tx, and now the failsafe goes WOT instead of braking.
Is this something you can fix in the radio, or....?

RE: stupid savage
I had the same problems when the engine was started the servos went off by themselves and when the engine was off they worked fine, it was my receiver, which was stock at the time, the receiver is meant to be padded out with some foam so it is protected from the vibrations. Also try running the truck without the failsafe like stevblutu15 said if it works fine without it you know the failsafe is the problem
