RE: "After-Run" Oil
most afterrun oil is a mixture of marvel mystery oil and ATF(automatic transmission fluid) mixed 50/50...any pneumatic oil will work..remove the glow plug after you run your car and add 3-5 drops into the engine ..rotate the engine for 5-10 seconds so the opil can spread and cover all the sleeve walls, crank, and bearings...reinstall the glow plug..thats all you have to do..i usually only use afterrun oil for the first few days after i break in a new engine..after those few days i only use it if the engine will be stiiing for more than 4 days with out being used..you dont need to use it every day after you run your engine..but it dosent hurt either

RE: "After-Run" Oil
according to O.S. engines it isnt a good idea to put after run oil in the carb(says thier instruction manual)..i dunno why..ive done it to my savage once or twice..but not my onroad car and seen no ill effects to either..i usually just pull the glow plug and drop it in the head..gives me a chance to inspect the plug

you only do this when you plan on not driving the vehicle. its good to put it in the head like when your done runnin. but when you dont plan on driving it a while you dont want your carb to get gummed up thats all

I don't use it unless I know that I won't start my engine for more than a week. I just pinch my fuel line and let all the nitro burn out of the engine after every run. Only cause sometimes I have starting issues when using after run.

RE: "After-Run" Oil
I put 3 drops in the carb and turn the engine over for a 1-2 sec with the rotostart. Never had a problem doing it this way. I never use the stuff in my helis, but that's because it's a pain in the butt to do it. Interestingly, I've never had a problem with my helis either and I've been doing it like that for about 7 years now. Makes me wonder if it's realy needed at all.

I've been thinking the same thing. I took the motor apart on my old trainer and didn't find any rust, i never used after run in it.
Maybe it a gimmick and we are all just doing what we are told to do.
