slipper cluch spur gear meshing
i have heard of the paper method in adjusting the spur gear meshing.
I am really new at this and really would like to get it done right.
Can anybody tell me how to go about this.
I am a real idiot when it comes to rc cars.
thanks

RE: slipper cluch spur gear meshing
Take 2 strips of paper and place it in between your CB and SG while meshing, then tighten it down to make the mesh stay. Turn your SG to release your paper, and it should look like an accordian, if it has a curve to it then your mesh is a little crooked if the paper is straight, then it's okay, and if it isn't like an accordian then it's not tight enough. Straight and like an accordian is what you want, then rotate the SG 2 full turns to insure it's right all the way around. A little play is okay, too tight will cause damage.
