Default 4.6 third needle

Just wanted to know if anyone has had the third (midrange) needle screw itself in on them. I have never touched it but the other day it was approx 3 turns in.
We had some visitors recently and after they left my Minizilla tranny was stripped and the brushless esc had lost its program. I am starting to think someone has been meddling....
Thanks.

I also run the k4.6 and i have not had that problem.Could be signs of bad o rings on the needle.

Pulled it out and checked the o rings and they are ok.

Is there some tension when you turn the needle or does it move really easy? It should be a somewhat tight fit not loose at all. If it isnt sloppy I would be willing to bet that someone was tinkering with it or you are mistaken about where it was at before. I woul djust re set it and see if it does it again.

The needle is not an overly tight fit. I was pretty sure it was flush when i put the truck together and i have not touched it. I might change the o rings next time i have it apart. Thanks for the input

Problems with the 4.6 needles are pretty common. Some screw themselves in. Others unscrew themselves. The o-rings just aren't a very good fit. Grab some Permatex Copper RTV Sealant and seal all three needles. I haven't had a single problem since sealing my needles.

I've also heard of people using a small dab of threadlock on the midspeed needle, but it is only a temporary fix. The threadlock will heat up and dry out over time.

The mid-range needle has a tendency to "drift". Most trucks don't need the kind of adjustment this needle is for since it is usually meant for racing. Just set it flush and threadlock it.

I think that may be the way to go, flush with threadlock. I have never played with it anyway.
