Savage 25...top end/shifting problem
I have had my Savage 25 for about 6 months and have only used about 1 1/2 gallons of 20% fuel. The last few times I ran it, it had some problems. When it is at its shift point sometimes it hesitates...and makes a sound like....eh..eh...eh...ehhh. Like it is going from full throttle to idle a bunch of times. I have tried to change the shift point...and retune it, but nothing helps. It also makes that sound when it as at full throttle usually.
any help is appreciated...Thanks,
Mark

RE: Savage 25...top end/shifting problem
It sound like it is leaning out under full throttle. If richening the HSN has not corrected the problem. Then there is an air leak, a fuel supply problem or your glow plug is failing.
Air Leak:
- Carburetor leaking air around the base
- Back plate leaking air.
Fuel supply problem:
- Hole in fuel line
- Hole in Pressure line
- Fuel tank lid not sealing
- Hole in fuel tank
You will never sort out shifting until you get the engine tuned.
There are a number of threads that address these issues. Do a search.
