Yup

Its supposed to be a "purpose built something or other". But I think its geared more towards racing in the truggy class.

center diff one speed? ok. well it would seem that to stay competitive they would at least make it 2 speed and then add the upgrade 3 speed later but one speed? now im questioning the hellfire.

You are comparing apples to oranges. 2 different types of drivetrains.

Centre diff is good for adjustable front to rear braking.

You can have a centre diff and a 2- or 3-speed, the CEN Genesis .46 has this setup. i think the reason the hellfire is a single speed is because it is meant for racing, and most tracks limit your tranny to a single speed don't they? i know in ST racing this is true cause all the guys with Jatos are always converting their truck to a single speed for racing. i don't like a centre diff either, tends to thow power to the front wheels when you need it in the rear, but hey, whatever works, right?

Doesn't a single speed limit top end speed as well? I mean I was expecting the hellfire to do atleast 50mph...I'm not into racing, I just like the speed and bashing around...

might not get it after all....perhaps they will introduce a 2-speed later on down the road...

Bummer....

Plus compared to a MT the hellfire is pulling ALOT less weight and rotational mass around so it doesn't need a low 1st gear to acclerate. The new .28 engines will pull those truggies around easily.

I don't understand why the top speed is such a big deal? You want the fastest <insert RC> grab the rossi .28, get it modded by a good engine shop and hold on.

The hellfire will probably do mid 40's out of the box, if you want crazy speed buy a 1.10th on road car and shoe-horn the .28 in it.

have to partially disagree here. yes have a moded or bb will go fast. but fasternot by much? quicker most definatly. why are the the guys winning the unlimited classes w/ .18 when in the same class there are .23 on up? yes it will help but gearing is where you get majority of the speed.

top speed has nothign to do with the design or idea of this truck. Its getting to 30-40 mph in a couple seconds. Any car can go fast. but getting there and handling while doing so is another thing. This truck was built for racing in mind. Thats it. Why does it matter if it can go 100. It will never see that on the track.

For those of us that dont race, bottom end and top end is everything. So it's crucial to have a 2-speed to see some significant top end speed. However, with the racer in mind, I think this trunk will be awesome on the track.

I doubt racers are the only ones buying the hell fire when it's out, right?. I just wish they would make a 2-speed kit for it, or have it as an optional kit or something like that.

Happy Holidays...

if you don't race then don't buy the hellfire! we all know that the hellfire is built for racing! its that simple! wanna bash? get savage, wanna race? get hellfire.

You know what, your absolutely right....no argument there...lol

The hellfire just looks so cool, the suspension adjustments are incredible, the ease of maintenance is breakthrough technology. Perhaps they will come out with a kit that's been modified to take damage, like a savage, or revo, etc...

Happy Holidays...
