RE: help please
He didnt really give a very good explanation for his problem. He said the wheels move and do what he wants them to when its off the ground so the clutch cant be the problem really can it? I guess the brakes cant either....nothing can can it?
Well what gets altered when the wheels are on the ground and the suspention compresses?

RE: help please
1)Sounds like it may be running to rich. Turn your HSN clockwise 1/8 turn at a time and see if that helps. Be careful not to lean it out too much.
If that don't work
2)check that your slipper is not too loose.
3)make sure your clutch shoes are making GOOD contact with the bell.
What I meant by TWITCHY....... does it jerk forward and stop. and repeats

RE: help please
It sounds really obvious but first off, check the spur gear and clutch bell to be sure neither is stripped, and they are meshed together.
Then you need to isolate the part of the drive train that is failing. For your symptoms the easiest place to start is by wrenching down the slipper clutch so you know it is not slipping. If it still doesn’t work:
1) With the rear wheels on the ground, try turning the front wheels in the same direction at the same time. The rear wheels should also turn at the same rate. If they do and there is no slipping, go to step 2. If they don’t repost and tell us.
2) with all 4 wheels on the ground or the brakes locked up so the tires cant turn, try spinning the spur gear with your finger. It should not spin at all. If it does there is probably something wrong in the tranny.
3) Start your truck and hold it so it can’t go anywhere. Give it enough throttle to spin the clutch bell.
a) If it never spins and you don’t feel the truck trying to pull away from you, the clutch is the problem.
b) If the clutch bell starts spinning and the spur gear starts spinning, but you still don’t feel the truck pulling then your probably back to the tranny.
(For both of the above tests, the truck should be pulling hard at higher engine rpm’s if everything is working properly).
My money is on the slipper clutch. Again make sure it is tight. There are other things it could be, but start with these, as I think they are the most likely. If not, let us know what happened and we will try some more.

RE: help please
Hold the truck on the ground and give it some throttle. Figure out where the motion from the engine stops. Flywheel turning? Clutchbell turning? Spur gear turning? Tranny input shaft turning? Both tranny outdrives turning? Diff inputs turning? Diff outdrives turning? Dogbones turning? Wheels turning?
Where the motion stops is where your problem is.
