New Savage Steering not turning much
Havent broke it in (started it yet) but i noticed the steering doesnt turn the wheels that much at all. I made the trim adjustments on the radio but that only helped some.
Whatsup? What do i need to do?
Thanks

This will be one of the first upgrades you'll
want to do. Buy a hump pack battery for your
receiver and a good high torque servo for your
steering. When the truck is not moving the front wheels
do not turn very far left to right. But when truck is moving
the wheels will turn full lock left to right. The stock steering
servo is weak.

That was one of the first upgrades I did to my sons savage
back in 2004. The hump pack will replace the 4 AA batteries
and if you get a new on/off switch with the charging jack
you'll never have to open that darn radio box again. And
after you replace the steering servo you can put the old steering
servo where the throttle/brake servo is and have better
throttle and brake response. I was new at this back in 2004
and I listened to other people and learned a few things and
this upgrade is one of first to do.

RE: New Savage Steering not turning much
the very same for me!
Just bought a hitec metal geared high torque servo (same one as whats used for my swift 2 steering) Also i bought a tx rx pack including a charger, 8 rechargeable AA's, recharge harness and hump pack!
Really pleased and yea the stock servo sucks! What you could do though if you have the limited edition savage is use the stock servo on the steering for throttle and brake because it is more powerful than the one alrready in it.

take your front wheels off and loosening the screw at the top and bottom of the steering knuckles.
these are not screws you want to tighten too much.
