I have been electric a while and I want to go nitro. I really like the savage and i have been looking at all the different nitro trucks for awhile. I am just wondering if the savage is easy for a beginner nitro guy but still fun fast and competitive? Is it durable cause I bash hard and I want something that will hold up? Does the Limited Edition have reverse or not? I will either get a savage 25 or the limited edition. Thanks for all the help.

yes it has reverse and u can get the reverse module which lets u go in 2 speeds in reverse i believe, I have a SAVAGE EL and love it u wont be dissapointed its very tought and its like bullet proof get a savy and ull be happy

yeah i have the savage 25 with reverse and other hop ups its a good durable basher and u can get a 3 speed trany for more speed its a good choice

IF JUMPIN AND THRASHIN AROUND IS WHAT YOU WANT THEN THE SAVAGE IS THE WAY TO GO CUZ OUT OF THE BOX ITS CRAZY ,bUT IF RACING IS WHAT YOU WANT THEN LOOK ELSWARE UNLESS YOU HAVE MECHANICAL ABILTIES AND SOME EXTRA CASH TO MOD THE SHOCKS ON THE SAVAGE AND LOWER THE CENTER OF GRAVITY IT WILL ROLL ON FAST TURNS STOCK. BUT IVE JUMPED 7 FEET UP AND 15 FEET LONG AND LANDED IT AND THATS JUST FEAKIN SICK MAN.

The LE does not come with the reverse installed. you will need to buy it seperatetly.

So none of the savages have reverse stock? I think I would rather get the savage 25 then, better tires for where I live and I could get the 3 speed anyday.

It wouldn't surprise me if they dicontinued the Savy 25 because the Savy X is nothing more than a Savy 25+. They are not that much more expensive and can do all that the original could, but better.

To answer the original question, I have a Savy25 with mods and I couldn't be happier. It is easy to work on and is definitely dependable every time you go to crank it. You can bash them any way possible that you can think of and it will still roll back to its wheels and keep on goin'! As far as the OE tires, that will be 1 of the first mods you will make. They are not good at all.
Reverse and 3- speed are easy to install and you will only spend about $150 for the 2 mods with an extra servo.
They are awesome trucks. I say get it!

Yea, the Savage 25 in all it's glory has been discontinued. I believe the X and the SS 4.6 are the only current models. However, Ultimate Hobbies does still have some of the 25 LE's in stock on their website. I am sure other places still have a stock of the 25 models available.
