ive heard good from both. saw a video of the picco and it was a power monster (was a fast truck on the toip end also) with 20/47 gearing. the sts ive also heard was a torque monster and great for the money.

RE: STS .28 or Picco .27??
Hi I'm new this forum and I 'm from PR.
Well I recently have the STS 28 and I have not the chance to see a savy with a picco before but I can tell you that with the STS your savy will come torque monster and a master of wheelies. You better prepare with a good wheelie bar !!! I just buy a new rear body post and my 2 weeks
Bounty Hunter body does not look anymore like the picture!! I have to extend the upper arms of the HPI wheelie bar so the little wheel is more close to the ground. If I will come with this idea the second day after the brake in My body only minor scratches!!
If you can modify the brakes do it because with a 18/49 is pretty fast. I did not have the chance to try some others combinations.

RE: STS .28 or Picco .27??
awesome i cant freakin wait i just ordered on off ebay brand new for 111.98 great price it was 123.98 with shipping compared to the picco .27 which is like 180.00 not including shipping i cant wait to fire it up..
I got a couple of questions
should i go with the engines manual that says idle for 2 minutes then cool and repeat 6-8 times
or should i just let it idle throught one full tank then second tank puttz around very easily
Also keep the pull start or get roto start... Well my rotostart hand held thing broke soo i guess im gonna have to stick with the pull start
Thanks
Sean

RE: STS .28 or Picco .27??
well roto-start to pullstart is personal preferance. i like the roto-start. as for break-in. heat cycling will be your best bet. start the truck and on pavement just drive the truck around slowely with the engine up to temperature (around 200) for a few minutes, then let it cool for a few minutes (till the engine gets to like 60 degrees) then keep repeating for like a half hour. then you can start bumping it up and tuning the engine. i broke my f4.1 in my savage x like that and i didnt take it easy after break-in. i did have to take it easy while tuning it (it didnt go fast out of tune) which took another half hour but once it got running i beat the hell out of it and its still got great compression. this was my first time with this break-in method and so far so good. other people have had great success off of it. ive also broken in cars 2 other ways. one is to run the car for 3 minutes (idle) then let it cool, and repeat 4 more time (5 total) then run it for 5 minutes, 3 times (be sure to let i cool between runs) then start driving and tuning the truck. ive done this with my 18ss cars and they have been through the most abuse of all my cars and they are still idling great and making plenty of power and compression. lastly, this is how i broke in my s-25 and picco 26. idle the car till it gets up to temperature (if it does at idle, you may have to lean it out if its cold outside and yes its ok to do this, arguabely its better to do this). do this 2-3 times a day for 1 week. you should lean it out a little so there isnt so much fuel creating a hydrolock effect putting stress on the crankshaft and connecting rod. i sold my picco which was still running good after 4-5 gallons and made plenty of compression and my s-25 ran awesome for 7 gallons but the con rod snapped. to avoid problems like broken bearings, cranks, and conrods lean the carb a little and make sure the engine isnt running below 160. it is recommended you take it easy on he engine the first day after break-in but i didnt on my 4.1 and its running great so far. also take note for the first half gallon or gallon of fuel the engine is still breaking in and conforming the way its supposed to a little bit (even after the break-in process) so the engine wont truely wake up till after you run it for a while. my 4.1 really woke up after the first quart of fuel so youll notice the difference. hope i helped

i have the STS .28 in my savage and it is insane. if you want enough power to render your truck totally useless cause all you do is pop wheelies and fly incredibly fast, then yes the STS is for you[>:]

SavagedSS, I was thinking STS 28, but your description is actually a bit off-putting... Maybe a Picco 26 would be more my cup of tea... I want more of a screamer..
