Hey guys I finally had the ballz to take my engine out. Eveything went well, I stripped the car down and cleaned it real wel.. First i took off the cooling head cleaned it inside out, then i took out the whole engine cleaned it and everything, looks great i thought it would be harder but it was real easy. I took off the rotostart backplate,i cleaned it cause there were too of the three bolts missing, luckilly i had the bolts since last time i took it to the hobby shop. Thatas the second time its happeded. Is it normal, should i use thread locker?I also cleaned the pipe, engine mounts ect. well i cleaned everything and everything looks great, im thinking of changing my gears since i have a new spur gear and clutchbell. The spur gear is a 47tooth, and the clutchbell is a 19 tooth. What kind of performance will I be looking at? What will happen and what would be the results, the stock gears are fine but im just wondering. Oh yea and I have the stock .25 motor. Well i still have one more problem , NO BRAKES! no matter how I adjust them without dragging its nnot good enought to stop it in time at full speed. everything looks fine, but if i tilt the truck to look at the bottom i think its vertical the disks slop down a bit, like u can see the fade of were it should be on tyhe metal hex thing there are too screw there should i tighten them and how cause i cant find a way to access them. wont that just make them drag tho.
well i hope u guys can help thanx.

19 CB and 47 spur sure is high gearing unless you have a really hot engine. My 4.6SS came with 17-47 and I changed it to 17-49 and made it a whole lot more fun to run. I am now running on a small tight track and dropped it to 16-49.
Yes tread lock the any screws that screw in to metal.
On the brakes are you running a stock servo and are you running a receiver pack or AA batteries? If you are running AA batteries I recommend you get a good hump pack.

when i tilt my truck my disks are a little sloppy also. you should be able to set truck on the floor and move the brake linkage forward and have your breaks (lock up) if you can do this all you should have to do is adjust the nut on the end of the linkage to acheive thr breaking you want. i found it easier to turn the radio on and apply the breaks (fully) then try to roll truck. then adjust as i see fit

In my opinion 19-47 is not a good idea for a stock .25. I would think it would put a good bit of strain on the engine particularly off road and defiantly on grass.

Also that break thing i tried but does not seem to work the way i want it to like i have no brakes without dragging.

Wish I could help you more with the brakes but with out having it in front of me I am not sure what else to recommend.
On your gearing try going up on the CB to a 17 to 18 teeth and see if this helps cut down on the wheelies.

I have an LE and it came with a spring on the brake linkage like
the type you would find in a ball point pen. I removed that
and put on, in place of the spring a piece of fuel line tube
about 5/8" long. The fuel line tube setup is what came stock on
my sons 25 RTR and that worked great on his so I switched mine
also.

5/8 of an inch. or 1/8 of an inch longer than 1/2 inch.
Or .625 on a pair of dial calipers.
Or if you have no way of measuring then
cut the tubing around the same length as the control key
or the alt key on your key board.
