HSN leaks fuel
Hey guys.
My HSN has a leak, now normally i would have jsut used silocone sealent to re-seal it (any one got a good how to on this???)
But i saw a thread saaying that silocone could harm your engine????
So what do you suggest i do?
Any help would be great, thank you.

RE: HSN leaks fuel
Where at the HSN is it leaking? Most have an o-ring on the part you turn. The proper RTV is fine and I have been using it on my RC engines for over 6 years with out a problem.

RE: HSN leaks fuel
Well (as you know) i have just had me piston pinched so have put all needles back to factory. I was priming the engine to try and start it by blowing down the presure pipe and could see fuel leaking from teh actual needle, from around teh side... make sense??
I was going to jsut loosen the needle right out and put a thin layer of sealent thre, what would you suggest?

If you look in the manual on the K4.6 is shows o-rings on all the needles. I recommend you replace them if that is where it is leaking. But do what ever you think is best.

edit-get o rings that can withstand alcohol fuel. The rubber used in a alcohol application is a little tougher than regular rubber.

RE: HSN leaks fuel
I had o-rings give out on my K4.6's. Here is how I fix 'em.
I get the small clear HPI o-rings (part #6821) after I cut off the old o-ring.
I put on the clear one in place of the old. The clear one is slightly larger than the old, but don't worry, that's needed for the fix.
I then screw in the mid-range needle back in; you will notice this process will shear off the excess material of the clear o-ring; this action causes the o-ring to become the exact diameter of the threads and makes an air-tight seal.
I continue to screw it in until it is flush with the carb facce (this is factory setting for K4.6).
I then fire up the engine and re-tune it and in the process, I also re-tune the mid-range until everthing is where it needs to be.
