Welcome to the forum and in my opinion if the Savage is in good shape any HPI vehicle is better then a Traxxas vehicle. Not trying to start a flame but this is my opinion and I have a right to it.

I have a jato and a savage X. Since I have had my X I haven't touch the jato. The X is more versitile and definitly more durable. I really haven't missed the speed of the jato because I have been bashing a having alot more fun with the X. Hope this helps

It depends if you want to bash, or the speed. The Savage is tougher, and is great to mess around with. I prefer HPI over Traxxas, you just cant compare them. I like it where I live anyway, theres lots of dirt, and there are too many obstacles to even get my Savage up to speed with out flipping or jumping.

Trade him... and then run over the Jato with the Savage
How messed up would that be? Like if the very first time you fire the Savage up you just plowed full steam into the side of the Jato and break his new truck. That would be mean... but extremely funny.
Really though, Jatos do look like alot of fun in the right setting, but unless it's really hopped up I would trade him. You'll have more fun overall with the Savage.
