That's understandable, the Tmaxx is a nimble little truck and the 3.3 is peppy.... BUT, have you driven the Savage since you did the mods? You should be making that Tmaxx look silly at this point.

The brake piston probably fell out when you removed the stock brakes. That rod is called the brake cam, and there is a slot milled into the other end of it that the piston sits in and that holds it in place. You can see the parts on page 41 of your Savage X manual, part numbers 86092A and 86092B. You can also see the exploded view on page 37. The X SS manual has a better exploded view though... pages 17 and 18.

Get the Savage running before you make any big decisions. If you don't hurt that Tmaxx's feelings then PM me and we'll get it straightened out.

i understand, so is the brake cam suppose to be able to slide out, as i didnt see a brake piston, i can slide the brake cam round in circles so im thinking there is no brake piston inside, or am i not ment to fell or see it??....lol, its driving me mad!!...lol

You have to take the brakes off. If you pull the cam out and look at it you will see how it works. The piston sits against the flat surface in the slot on the cam. As the cam spins it pushes on the piston, and then the piston clamps the brake pads together. After you remove the brake assembly you will see the hole in the transmission where the piston sits. The brakes hold the piston in place, and the piston holds the cam in place.
