Glad you guys like them, the first attempt didnt sit well with us, trial and error . Having the scales a different color on the edges would be impossible. We might be able to do a different color on the scales and the spaces in between in black but thats something we still have to test first. R+D is a pita at times.

First step is to remove any allready existing anodizing, we do this by putting the pieces in a bath of caustic soda. Next we put them in nitric acid to remove the black residue left over from the caustic. Next is the degreaser and oxidizer to prep the parts for the ano bath. After this into a solution of acid and water at the right temp with an electric current flowing through the parts. This builds a layer of honey comb shaped tubes coming up from the pores of the aluminum allowing colors to flow in. And thats the basics of anodizing.

Well just have to beat the info out of ya
In a side note did you know you could annodize titanium. It requires some aluminum foil and mild acid I guess cola works .

Yeah i know[&:], its not that i dont want to but there some things that i wont reveal and some others that are easily availlable on the web. I can give the basics of how its done step by step but some things that we've figured out through hard work/trial and error, well it just wouldnt be fair to us to just give it away. Thats something we've been meaning to try for a while now. I have some scrap pieces of titanuim as well as a set of TVPs so eventually we will give it a try.

Its no problem, you guys DEFINITELY deserve it. Also, I saw that pair of savage X tvp's on ebay with the orange ghost flames, Im pretty sure that's how I will get my mantis all done up. =]
