They sure dont last long in the reciever, I had to get a re-chargeable hump pack and its awesome! Before I had to put in a new set of batteries every time I went out. The 6 volt hump also gives more power to my servos.

Yep hump pack is the way to go for the RX and I use 15 minute rechargeable AA in my TX and they last a long time. But I recharge them before each race day to be on the safe side.

Don't use rechargable AA batteries in your receiver. By doing this you will drop the amount of power to you electronics. A regular alkaline AA is 1.5volts and a NiMH/NiCad AA is only 1.2volts. Thus taking you down from 6volts of power to 4.8volts. Buy a hump pack, you won't regret it.

rx is the receiver
tx is the transmitter.
Go with a receiver 6 volt "hump pack" in the truck, you can get a charger cheap enough on ebay.
Alkaline AA batt's in the rx give more volts than rechargeable's, 12 volts compared to 10.4.

I get about 1.5-2.5 hours continual use out of a 1400mah rx pack. Is the 3000mah pack from the Baja? If so it will not fit in the Sav. There are batt's for sale on ebay with high capacity however they take up the space of the reverse servo as well.

The 3000mah is for the Baja, wont fit, the orion pack also wont fit in the radio box. Sorry

Unless you have another charger this set would do you well. You would get many hours use out of the battery, then charge it. It would take 26 hours to fully charge from empty though.
I use a Swallow charger for all my batt's, from Li-Po to Ni-Mh. Does them all. Not the cheapest but very good.

i think he meant to say tx

about the glow ignitor, anyone is good
also helps if you get the one that has the battery level thing on it so you can tell when to charge it

No the baja is made to take sub c batt receiver packs. The Sav takes a smaller batt.

The first on does not fit in the radio box. It needs to be mounted to the front shock tower. The second one fits in the radio box.

This type fits and the reverse servo is fine as well.
This charger will work as well.
