I run the lst2 with muggy suspension in the 07 rc world monsterjam at gravediggers place. The was a but load of revo's, lst's and savages. Ryan anderson won the big block class with his savage, so savages can be made to handle for the race guys.

I think it's just because Savages have been around longer, so over time people have invested a lot in tuning in their Savages, etc.. There are almost endless tuning options for the Savage as well, so it's pretty easy to stay with a Savage once you have one - cuz there's so much you can do with it..

If you're starting from scratch though, IMHO the LST2 is the better truck.

Except, as I said, if you plan on bashing the living ccaaarap out of it - at skateparks, off your house, etc.. Then the Savage is prob the better choice, if only cuz it would be a shame to intentionally wreck such a nice truck like the LST2..

Don't get me wrong, the Savage X SS or even the new 4.6X RTR are IMO among the best trucks you can get, and especially if you like tuning, modding, etc.. and insane bashing. But for an out-of-the-box RTR, the LST2 really is the whole package...

I understand what you mean Pat and I agree, you get a really nice chassis, some bad@$$ shocks, and a nice engine with pipe. Though if I did buy one, I doubt Id ever bash my $600 investment as hard as my Savage. I mean Ive already put a nice amount of money into my Savage but I know it can take the heat[8D]

I have now owned all major trucks except for the MGT. I really do agree with Pat, LST2 is whe whole package. You get a strong engine, awesome radio, a quality truck, and some huge tires. I liked my revo but I like my LST2 better. I mainly race so I go whatever feels better on the track. I thought the LST had a more stable and nimble feeling than my heavily modded Picco .26 revo. My First M/T was a Savage 25 and I beat the living crap out of it.

I was still learning the whole R/C thing so I did some stupid things. Like...leaving the glow-plug loose and going WOT into a tree....glow-plug shot up in the air 20 feet in the air [&:]. My bro bought a New X SS and is moving in this week, so I will get to drive it!

Not a chance, I owned a Savage 25 for 2 years. There wasn't much HPI stuff left on the truck, modded the heck out of it. Sold it for 500!

Btw, why would I sell the LST if my bro already has one? I get to drive it whenever I want.

Because the LST2 is more performance/race oriented then it is bashing oriented. Some people have a hard time abusing such a expensive piece of equipment and rightfully so. Would you drive a million dollar SCORE trophy truck through the woods or you would drive a $10,000 Jeep CJ through the trees? Most people in their right mind would take the CJ because the Trophy truck is just to expensive to risk damage even though it is more than capable of making the CJ look like a child's toy. The same thing applies to the Savage and LST2. If you were someone that was looking for great performance and had intentions of racing rather than bashing, then the LST2 would be the logical choice. If you were just going to bash and abuse your truck, the Savage is the one.[8D]

Good points.. You know though, the main reason for the LST2's high price is just the radio.. I'm actually finding that parts often seem cheaper for Losi trucks than Savages... - at least here in Germany..

Getting away from the original topic..but... Really...the price diff is only +/- $150.oo isnt it ?
I see the Sav 4.6rtr for $450.oo and the LST2 for $550.oo.

Thats not leaving the same ball park IMO...[]

Savage: best basher, could make great race truck with minor upgrades. the Savage X 4.6 RTR will out run a Revo 3.3 in a drag race. the big block puts out some awsome torque.

LST2: designed for the track. fast but not close to being as durable as the savage. not really desined for someone that doesnt plan on racing at the track.

Revo 3.3: i'd rather get the cheaper T-Maxx 3.3. not as good as LST2 or Savage. IMO Revos are junk.

Savage for bashing/backyard racer
LST2 for the track

I think the LST2 is slightly underrated as a basher. I know I underrated it before getting mine.

Kinda' hard to tell from forums. If you ask around about Savages everybody seems to agree they're tough as nails, but about LST2's you hear all kinds of stuff - from very tough to very brittle.. I think with LST2's there may be some lemons out there, but mine anyway has been a very pleasant surprise. It's probably not Savage tough, but it's tough.. And in any case it wins big points for size, handling, and speed...

And if you think it's not cut out for hard bashing, just look up www.nitrobashers.com and check out their videos....(Granted, one of the dudes runs a chop shop and so has a huge supply of parts..)

Clayton you are wrong on you're assumption of the Revo. It is not junk, contrary to you're beliefs it makes a decent basher. If you want to get the 3.3 Maxx you can say hello to fixing it after every run cause thats all you'll be doing, im kind of sick of doing it but whatever

i guess if you baby it it'll survive stock vs stock i'd say the revo is junk for bashing because it's not made to bash, it's made to race. it's built light for speed and handling unlike the savage which is build like a rock with sturdier parts and wieghs a ton. both trucks have there plus sides, but a revo does not compare to a savage for bashing just as a savage does not compare to a revo for racing. leav it be alreally!

not to go to far to the left but I have a rc truck that is the best of both worlds, some people are going to say I'm full of it but the MGT is strong fast and can handle it won't overtake my lst2 and it's almost as tough as the savage stock. with a good driver on a track it will do very good and out bashing it can hold it's own. To be honest I like all my trucks all have that one or two things better then the other but all are good. The one thing that the LST2 has is that it can go from box to track and I don't know of anyother that can do that.
