S-25 breaking it very well
Savage 25 with ported S-25 engine (new piston/sleeve). I've got about 7 tanks through it now and learned something during tank 6. I had left the needles at their last setting and was getting an off-idle bog. I thought it was rich, but a burnt glow plug told otherwise. I just went out and richened through tank 7 and woo boy she runs good! A lean bog on the LSN was the problem.
Stock 2-speed tranny with 15/49 gearing. That's a 3.27 ratio which would explain why the wheels lift so easy. By contrast my X SS is running a 3-speed with 18/47 gearing so that's a 2.61 ratio and lifts the tires about the same.
I can't put the 3-speed in the S-25 without a gearing change for sure!! I've got a friend coming over with a 4.6 so we'll get some video of how my S-25 measures up.

Here's how it went down for tanks 9-10.
My friend has an Axial .28 (how appropriate) with 3-speed and 18/47 gearing. That's a 3-speed with a gear ratio of 2.61 folks! This thing should have some really good top-end. As a comparison my S-25 runs 15/49 gearing in a 2-speed. 2-speed with 3.27 gearing.
We went up/down the street WOT several times and it came out a dead-heat every time. [sm=wink_smile.gif][sm=lol.gif]
