Default Diffs

I blew another diff, but it was totally worth it. I was doing hill climbs 14/52, locked in first gear, with 40series mashers. It would go right up a 12-14ft embankment and jump of it just as well.

So, I been thinking I want some really tough diff, but not something that will break the piggybank.[&o]

I found these on ebay and with the Cen diffs I think they would be killer.

But how are stock Cen diffs in a savage??? I don’t really want Cen diffs but if there really good, well fine. I've been wanting some helical cut diffs like the Hot Bodies or MP777 because I've heard they are faster. Anyone got them???

I know, I used to really support the HBs differentials but I just never got around to replacing my stock diffs. I have now broken the stockers and am ready to replace.

What part did you blow? The insides or outsides? Did you have the alloy cups?

I have a set of HPI Machine Hardened Ring/Pinion gears on order. They were $28 from Towerhobbies.

I blew the R&P. I have never had a problem with the spiders. I was expecting it, the gears I blew had about 8 gallons of fuel on them 5 with a .21 and 3 with the lrp.28. Yes, aluminum cups.

I personally want helical cut diffs.

Check the outdrive bearings to see if they han any slop in them thats usually what causes the diff to go. You can use the cen diffs the gear ratio is diffrent and you need a larger bearing for the pinion shaft.
