I start my truck, it seems to idle fine. As soon as I try to give the slightlest bi of throttle the truck dies. I am kinda stumped with how to make this work. My current though is glow plug is not HOT enough causing to much fuel not to burn up flooding my motor. Any thoughts? I am running a stock savage x right now. Outside temps are pretty cold too right now... 4 degrees celcius (ontario canada).

Lean it out the high speed a bit. 1/8 turns at a time. If you notice it doesn't help stop. If you are still in break in don't go crazy. Make sure you temps are around 180-220 for break in.

Ok I will bite. Make sure your glow charger is charged, check that your plug works by taking it out and checking that it lights up. If when all that checks out and your trying to crank it fuel comes out of the muffler turn clockwise your LSN, pinch your fuel lines and continue to crank if you hear it try to pop off you know it was getting flooded. My savage came so rich the carb was basically a fuel pump to empty out the tank it poured out the muffler. Make sure your roto start is charged too these things like to run fast and need to spin good to start.

Like TooManyToys (is that possible) I leave the charger on for a few seconds, I even raise the rear of the truck, hang onto the wheelie bar and smoke a little rubber off of the front tires to help warm the engine and clear it out. BB

thanks for the tips, and yes i fully change the roto start and checked the glow plug and ensured the ignitor was charged too. Its a case of getting flooded. I need to get a new HOTTER glow plug.

If it is that rich, go ahead and lean it out some. I never understood the lets force the seals out of the block and front bearing by filling the crankcase with fuel theory. If you have a temp gun, just keep it under 250-260, try to find bottom dead center and turn the engine there when shutting it down. You are in a pretty cold climate right now... brrr! Its a wonder you can build a fire in that thing at all! You have a few options to get heat, wrapping the head with foil and running it at a faster rpm with the tires elevated so that air is not rushing over the heat sink are two. Keep us posted....you could always send it down here and I could get it past the first few bruises for you! Just kidding, stay on the forums and keep posting, these guys will get you through it.
