Default Best foams for Dirt Bonz??

I have a set and want to try racing them on my LST2.. I read somewhere that green Panther foams work well, even though they're 40 size(but then I have them in my Badlands..)

Anybody run green Panthers in their DB? What are the best? Stock is junk, and standard Proline formed don't work..

Thanks..

Yup, they don't fill out the tire at all. Get some of the cheap Fleabay bowtie copies. the yellow Ofna foams work GREAT with 'em

with the 40 series foam (for ex. the yellow ofnas) the inside diameter is 3.6" which seems to be too big for 3.2" rims? how do they fit on your rims? Unless your talkin about the truggy/maxx yellow ofnas.

I've got green Panthers in a set of Badlands. Had to squish 'em in there, but they fit.. Dirt Bonz are wider than Badlands too.

hi

i run the green panther in the DB quite for a while. they are doing well.
it broadens the tires a bit. but balooning is much less. the panther are much harder than the yellow ofnas.

bye
rhylsadar

i only have a comparison pic of the panther and ofnas in the gt tires but you may see the effect.

I always thought the DBs weren't that prone to ballooning? Mine would barely balloon up and I was using the soft compound DBs. Still have them actually.......................

yeah mine too, well accually i can't say that before i dumped 7k diff oil in my diffs if i were to punch it and turn really hard the back tires would break loose and inside front would lift lets just say i've gottin it to 8 in... i got the back tire off the ground once too but other than that they never ballon

OK I got the foams, and they seem to fit - not perfect, but better than anything else I have..

Anyway, a chunk is out of one of the foams.. What kind of glue should I use to fix it?

I wouldn't use any glue, TBH, because that would make the foams inconsistent. I'd go ahead and run 'em as-is

I think the chunk is a tad too big to just leave it... About the size of a slice of peach, or a big toe or something..

Cool, thanks.. What's CA?

My dad used to be big into planes and was always talking about epoxy.. Just remember as a kid that it was goopy and stunk.. Guess that's different though.. But yeah, good point - there must be good stuff for the foam planes.. The glue will probably cost more than the foams, which I bought knowing one of them was damaged - to save 5 bucks...

They only come in packs of four - and for whatever reason none of the shops I usually buy from(online, local no chance..) have them.. These I got through a German forum.. [8D]

Would be nice to have several local hobby shops with realistic prices to choose from, but unfortunately it just doesn't work that way here...
