Default Stripped 3 servo horns

Hey guys new here mostly fly Heli's but I bought my wife a Savage 4.6 and put a Hitec HS 645 servo on the steering and have stripped 3 servo horns. What do you guys suggest for a good servo horn that will hold.

duratrax makes one just like that and i stripped the plastic insert same as the horn i'ld get this and loosen up your servo saver so it's about 4 mm off the end.

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFVK9 you'll need to drill out a hole and possibly cut it if you have the reverse modual but other than that you're good

My bosses CEN GST 7.7 kept doing that also. here is a Hitec servo horn. It is double sided, but it is stronger than the single sided Hitec horn. I just cut one side off. It is made to work with Hitec servos, so you won't need any plastic adapters that will strip out.

I have a feeling you used the wrong servo horns. Were you sure to use the ones with the H on them?

Thanks for all the help everyone. Yea I am sure I used the right servo horn." they were leftovers from my TH servo on my Trex 600." I do have a servo saver on it and tonight I picked up an aluminum horn from my LHS to try out and see if it holds. Thanks again everyone

Yeah, no kidding.

I LOVE having nothing in common with the women I date...because it gives us things to discuss and learn from each other:P

Plus it makes for better

yeah
But, seriously...I don't think I'd be able to handle that.

Well DUH. There IS such a thing as using a proper part for the application.

I wouldn't put a Mach 427 in a heli, and I wouldn't put a heli .46 in my Savage.

A helicopter's servo horns are NOT designed for the loads and impacts a 12 lb monster truck can put on them.

Like I said in the beginning of this post. I am new to this. Any anyway the Servo horn I used was off a Hitec servo HS 5625 that can also be used for a Truck steering servo. The servo I have on the steering HS 645 is only running 24 in oz more of torque.

Sounds like you have the servo saver set too tight. I bash harder than probably 90% of people, and I have been running the same plastic servo horn since I installed my cam type servo saver in 2005.

it's not the servo's torque, it's the load the truck puts on the servo. a 12 pound truck haulin arse through your yard at 30 mph and hitting the little hidden lawnmower ruts and bumps and such is going to put a lot more strain on a servo horn than your helicopter will ever see...unless said heli hits the ground, adn at that point you're not too worried about the servo horn I think.

Servo saver set too tight will destroy the servo in this situation, not the horn. I've been running the same servo horn on my truck since it was new 2 1/2 years ago and only God knows how many gallons (my Mach 427 is on its last legs...I'm thinkin 13? 14 gallons? considering what kinda life I got out of my last 6 port SH motor)

Remember, we ARE talking about using the throttle linkage from Airwolf as a steering component in Bigfoot.
