Hump Pack Questions
Hey, I got a few questions about hump packs.
1) First off, is there really a big difference? I've been told its good to have but I was at the local shop and the owner said its not really a smart buy(weird for someone trying to make business)
2) What config do I use for the pack? I've heard different things. 2x2+1, firebird, or offset brick.
Offset Brick
2x2+1
Firebird
3) How do I go about charging with a single hitec male connector. Do I just buy/make a convert?
PS: I'm planning to buy from http://www.cheapbatterypacks.com/tst...p?sid=1206678#
Thanks much.

Mike
you want the offset brick
An yes a huge difference is noticed
Just make an adapter to hook it up to your charger
I see your from Socal also...where do you run?
I put about half gallon thru mine today

RE: Hump Pack Questions
The hump pack makes a huge difference since 4 rechargeable AA batteries can only supply 4.8v whereas the hump pack gives you 6v. This impacts the specs of the servos, take for example the Hitec 645mg servo.....
Speed: 0.24 sec/60° at 4.8V
0.20 sec/60° at 6.0V
Torque: 106.93 oz-in at 4.8V
133.31 oz-in at 6.0V
I use the offset brick, but I assume you can make other configurations fit.

RE: Hump Pack Questions
Alright, awesome. I read a previous thread and members recommended the other 2, but I've always seen the brick for savage packs. Thanks. Buying one now.
And mech, I dont live in SoCal. The city name is misleading to the LA district. Sorry. But if I'm ever down, lets ride!
Oh, and if you can provide a link to the premade one, could you?
I made this, lemme know if it sounds right:
Custom pack: 5cell, 6v, Sanyo 2700mAh NIMH, 22AWG wire, hitec male connector, offset brick config.
And for the adapter: hitec female to large female tamiya
