sliping aluminum clutch shoes?
Ok just added a new axial vented bell and a set of purple aluminum shoes with the gold springs. Why is it that I still get no bit. It just high rev when u hit the gasa. But it will slowly roll off if you lightly give it gas. Not when u punch it all it. It was fine befor the change. What could it be

It took my aluminum shoes a tank or 2 to start hooking really good. I think they needed some time to get roughed up before they would hook hard. Now they are great. Just drive it some and see how it does. Also, you didnt go to a big(high tooth count) clutch bell did you? If the bell is too big the clutch will slip because its overgeared.

17t bell. We ran over 3 tanks already and it just whine out when u try to punch it no BITE at all. That's brother in laws truck. I did the same thing to mine and its fine. Brand new motor with the new aluminum shoes and vented 16t bell. I know u have the axial 28spec one my brother in law does to. I have the 28rr I just sawped out the f4.6. I just finnished the break in and have tarted to see some good speeds from this thing. Still no wheelies though but well see once I lean it alil more and it starts getting looser. I think there has to be an issue with those sliping shoes.

Well I can't even say these purple shoes suck. They simplely aren't working I don't see how they could be worse then stock the stock stuff was fine. I'm running the XL set up and there's no issue

The anodizing makes the surface too hard to get any grab, and by the time the anodized areas have been worn off, the aluminum is heat-hardened to the point that you have the same problem.
If you'd like a different BS answer, ThunderbirdJunkie can make one up
In all seriousness, though, ThunderbirdJunkie has run several sets of ano'd aluminum shoes, and the raw finish shoes have always outperformed them

Yes they are on right. And they are the HPI Purple shoes. When we took the shoes off to inspect them the purple is worn off. Already but we just can't get any bite. And we are useing those lil black screws.
