Here is a video of my Savage X 4.6 And a friends Revo. Alot of it was driving skills but the Savage kept coming out ahead:D

kid tapin seems like he's kind of scared of the trucks...With good reason, I'v hit myself with my Savvy and needless to say, it hurt quite badly...You seen Glen's (BudBud) story about hittin himslef with his truck?

ALL of it was driving skills... your Revo buddy doesn't know how to control that truck very well. Plus, I didn't see much of a laid out track, it looked very free-for-all... *shrug* I'm pretty sure your Revo buddy lined up about 2 feet behind you as well... but, that's just what I saw. :D

I agree, your cameraman needs to stand still... either be in the action, or be out of it and use zoom.

Camera man (boy) was thirteen. Yea the track was just made with cones at corners. Tons of fun though.

The story tells itself, I was kneeling down on the left side of the camera, trying to see how close I was staying in the screen, the truck comes in, the front tires go up, steering is gone, and I am off for two days.....

HPI Savage RC- It only reinforces it because there is ovbiously to diffrenty scale of drivers racing each other....the revo sounded a little lean unless he is running a different pipe other then stock, 3.3's with the resonator DC or blue DC have a little more of a lower tone when tuned right in my experiences.

Revo's have taken home the ROAR championship since 2006 (not including 2008... that was won by an LST, however they were on the podium). Revo's have taken the R/C Pro Finals quite a few years as well. How does some poorly-skilled driver with a Revo getting beat by a better-driven Savage constitute it "sucking" ?

You can throw a 16 year old behind the wheel of a Ferrari and have him lose to a well-skilled driver in a minivan... Does that mean minivans are better than Ferrari's?

Revo = 6 national champsionships. Savage = 0 national championships. Heck, even the "red headed stepchild" CEN Genesis/Nemesis has even won some pro level races over the years. That's got to hurt. LOL.

That person driving the Revo needs to start out with a less powerful machine to learn basic driving skills. Had a driver with skills been behind the radio, that Savage would've been owned.:D

What alot of people dont realise is that racers take just as much abuse as bashers. Why are buggies and truggies built tough? so they can withstand a race. The revo doesn't have its titles for nothing.

it has it's title because there's no jumps over 5 feet in racing, if there were it'd be runnin around with brokin arms...You throw a revo 15 foot in the air sailing forwards at 40mph it's going to break.You do the same witha savage, and it MIGHT bent a body post...you put a revo on the track, and it'll be way ahead of the rest of the pack, takin' the turns like a pro, you do the same witha savage, it'll be rollin on the turns and will proabaly be in last[&o].

Racer's are, generally speaking, tougher on R/C's than your average basher. Of course there are exceptions to every rule, and the many videos you can find on this site are a testament to that fact. But I always chuckle to myself whenever I hear the new racer remark about how he can run the 10' jump at his house all day without breaking, but can't seem to finish a main.


Here's a short vid from one of the last races I went to. You get to see Moo-gen driver Chad May nail a backflip on the 'Sky Jump,' and Kyosho super fast guy Marcus (Anzivino) Neuspeed backflop! He was only a few laps ahead in the A-main when he tried this - it could have cost him the race! But he still won... I think there's about 5 seconds of my gas truck in there too.
Anyway, not all tracks are sissy's!

those are some nice jumps they're getting in there, but nothing like the abuse my savage has received...i'm talking rampin 15 foot the air, landin on 1 wheel, and cartwheeling 20 times...

I'll get vids when I get a camera...I guess I could tape my phone to the front of my truck, but I'd be afraid it's gonna get broke... I'm going back to Oklahoma (where I was doing the 15 foot jumps) for christmas. I'll try to get some vid then...

As for now I'll put my phone on my truck and put it into some cartwheels and stuff this weekend, but if I break my phone-and NOT my savage, you're buyin me a new phone...

Ok I didnt mean to start a forum war. It was fun having all them different trucks out there. I'm Sure with an experienced driver and not such a basher track the Revo would be ahead all the way, Its a track racing machine. My Savage was running great on that basher track. All I know is we all had a blast with our HPI, Losi, traxxas and other Trucks. Cant we all just get along:D

omg this is rediculous ...you guys need to grow up !!! who cares who has what and which is better!! I have a savage x 4.6 and my brother has a revo 3.3 and who cares which one is faster...either of us can barely control these damn things lmao!! but every time we go out and run them we have a great time and come home with good stories!

Well, because the video was of them racing back and forth. The OP was about how the "Savage always came out ahead" and our favorite HPI person (who's post has now been deleted) commented on how it shows the Revo sucks... when most people would agree that a well-driven Revo would generally come out on top of a well-driven Savage in a true race due to it's better handling characteristics, lower center of gravity, and better, lighter racing platform. That's not to mention that in racing, it really comes more down to the driver, and not the vehicle as much as one would think. Thus, a point was proven about ROAR championships and R/C Pro finals the Revo has won to the non-existant record of the Savage. Then, RCTruckRacer mentioned the truth about racing vs. bashing... that to be a good racer, it has to be durable to get you through a main. (trust me, I lost a race because I broke down... unfortunately, it was my fault... battery died... of course, given the other drivers, I would have had to fight for 3rd) and that racers many times abuse their trucks worse than backyard bashers. It takes a lot to get through even a 15 minute main... much less a 30.

Although I've seen that as well as the 4wd '03 Silverado that runs 10's... I'd still rather drive a Ferrari than that 80's dump wagon. :D

Unfortunately, the debate has been going on longer than that... because it's the same debate as Ford vs. Chevy... which has been going on for DECADES! Both have a following, both have a reason for that following. Both provide a great platform for a good vehicle, and both have fanboys that will stop at NOTHING to prove superiority. Thus, we have threads like this one. :D
