Default Clutch activation

So i just got a Firestorm 10T truck and i started trying to tune the engine because it always stalled, i adjusted the idling needl, and it stopped stalling. Came another problem, it engages the clutch, even without any throttle, so can only be stopped if i pull the brakes and don't let it go. Can somebody help me, how to adjust everything so it doesn't stall but stays still when off throttle?

Put the idle back to where it was. At what point is is it stalling?

Do you have the manual for the engine? If so I would suggest putting the needles back to factory settings and then go from there.

So i did set everything back to factory, and it didn't stall, but still wouldn't stay still without throttle. I brought it out to an empty car park to see its full potential, but the brakes failed partially and i broke the parts of the front bulkhead set (100319), the brakes does work somehow but they aren't strong enough to stop the car.

Ok I was just wondering because there are several things to consider if an engine is new or used. Are you comfortable with removing the engine from the truck? I don’t know what your mechanical abilities are and what tools you have so that’s why I ask.

i haven't really done something like that so i would only start with it if it's necessary, and there's no other wa of doing things

Anytime a used RC especially nitro is purchased a good tear down is a really good idea. The engine should be taken out, cleaned externally then tear down, inspected, cleaned internally with rubbing alcohol and ad a few drops of after run to the engine bearings then reassemble and make sure all the seals are good. There are several reasons for this as there could be a bad gasket seal or a bad one way bearing in the pull start causing a lean running engine, ( a bad front engine bearing can cause this as well). Also there could be a bad clutch spring or something broken in w/ the clutch causing it to engage prematurely. It’s also a good idea to tear the whole truck down for the same reasons and that way you can familiarize yourself with the truck and how everything works.

well thank you, but i don't really have an idea how to do all that, and i also might not have the tools for it, is there any help for this somewhere, i really wouldn't take the whole truck apart if i don't know what im doing

The whole truck doesn’t need to be disassembled just the engine removed to check for a bad clutch bearing or a broken spring which if it is one of these things it will cause the issue you are having. It could be a tuning issue but I can’t see and hear the engine. Do you have a local hobby shop near you that could look at it? The thing about these little cars is that they require maintenance and stuff will break. These little nitro engines require tweaks in their tune depending on the weather etc so it’s important to learn the basics. I don’t know what region you live in but it’s pretty cold out now and these little engines can be quite finicky in the cold and don’t like to hold a tune.

In post 3 you said it was stalling when you "don't give it throttle / under braking". Have you set your idle stop? If you don't do that it'll kill your motor every time you hit the brakes.
