Default AFPD PC build

I'm planning a new PC build and need input on what hardware is best for this sim. Nothing worse than finding compatiblity issues after all that work. I know what's optimal, just wonder what I need to stay away from, and what works best. Video & sound cards (I like SB), memory, anything you folks can recommend would be greatly appreciated! Cost will be a factor, but I do like to go higher-end if it makes things seamless. Have a good 21" CRT, I hope that will be OK?

Thanks for your input!!

Eddie, you could find the recommended PC and videocard requirements for AFPD here http://www.aerofly.com/afpd/requirements.html but in case you would like to upgrade to AF5 later, it is better to refer to the recommended requirements for AF5 here http://www.aerofly.com/requirements_en.html

Thanks, I've looked at the minimum and recommended mfg lists. Just wondered if you folks had any 'gee-whiz' hardware or anything to stay away from. Monitor recommendations? Thanx!

The larger the monitor size, the better A 24-inch Full HD monitor is what I would recommend.

Thanks, Mike. After reading the AF5 thread, I see I can run it on my 50" Sony. Time to shop!
