Default A HARDWARE question this time ....

Hi again,

My set up is p4 2400 w/512 ram and Geforce4 440 mx. With AFPD , Normally I get 65 - 75 fps in default scenery. But in different scenery (ikarus i.e.) or in 2 player mode it goes down to 15 - 17 fps. Not good at all. I like to upgrade the graphic card with a Fx 5700 w/128 MB. Will that be enough........ for every thing that AFPD will ever ask for..........I prefer this card cos. it is the cheapest.....

Thanks for your input in advance.

Regards.

That card will do it ... but what about 2 years when the next version comes?

If you can afford a 256 Mb card ... get it ...

As long as it's OPEN GL and not a combo card. The list of non-recommended cards is on the requirements page on aeroflypro.com.

You are talking about the GE Force FX 6800.. ITs a $300 card but its supposed to be a real good one. I have the Ge Force FX5500 256MB and it will run everything in the program but Im getting about 40-60 frames per second,,, but so far not a bump[8D]...

Ned are you load balancing your Open GL. You should be getting much more then that. Try messing with some of your settings.

I get 90-200 on my 128MB ATI 9700. About 25-50% more on ATI 9800.

I just installed a ATI 9600 in my daughters computer I got it from www.newegg.com it was about $80 not a bad card for the buck if your on a diet. I also never seen a bench mark on a card that had 256 meg do a whole lot better than a 128 meg card and spending the extra money on the next generation 128 meg card versus the 256 meg card of the same generation is always a better bang for the buck. food for thought a lot of the 9800pro ATI cards have the R-360 chip on them and you can flash the chip to a 9800xt if you keep it cool enough it is a cheep way to get a expensive card for cheep about $200 here is a link to get the info on that http://my.tbaytel.net/panthor/

how does the Gforce FX 5500 OC with 256MB of memory work for ya? I just got one, (a bit over $100) And hope it will do the trick... I like to run at 1024x1280 or whatever that resolution is... Does this card work well? I went with the FX 5500 with 256MB insted of the FX 5700 LE with 128 MB hope it was the right choice (they were the same price). I'll be makin' my order for AFPD in a few short days!

Ohh one other question.... I use a futaba 9cap radio, and I don't wanna buy the adaptor, cause I have a powered usb cable (I don't need a battery in the TX) that I use for FMS, will it work with AFPD??? I'll just leave the dongle cable pluged in, but select the other cable as the controler, will that work?

Thanks!

Hi guys,

I have upgraded our computer s memory and graphic card, I can have now 160 FPS w/smoke and the other things on. Of course I paid the price for 512 MB additional RAM (100 $) and for N6600GT -128 MB graphic card (250 $).

I think I was looking for an excuse to upgrade the computer, anyway I think it worths and I like it. My daughter is also very happy with the computer ( she has many 3D games).

Happy new year for all.

Regards.

Zafer
