Can I buy a $35.00 4 ch buddy box from Airtronics and use it as my controller for Aerofly professional deluxe or do I need to buy a fully functioning controller. I do not have a controller and I am having a hard time waiting for the commander version to come out.

You sure can! You can buy any radio you like. I've seen good 6 channel one's going to $50.

The buddy box must have a battery. A lot of them don't.

I'd just look through Ebay or RCU Marketplace to see if there are any good deals.

You can find amazing prices out there.

Check these out. There is a JR 8 channel without Xtal for $50. Can't beat that.
