Default OMP, Help with Controller Interface

I have been using my AFPD every night since I got it without any problems. And tonight when I sat down to do night flying, I started AFPD and I get the error no input device. It is like the radio is not connected or turned on. No other changes to PC or anything. I tried restarting AFPD, unplugging and plugging back in the USB connector, restarting my PC and nothing works. When I unplug the USB connector I get the normal sound for connecting and disconnecting. I even got another radio to try and it does the same thing.
It seems my interface cable is dead. Is that possible? Can I get warranty on this? Help OMP. I can't live without my AFPD.[]

Thanks
Pete

Is the "serial number" showing up in the initial AFPD screen? If it is, then it's reading the cable okay... It may just not be seeing your radio... The most likely culprit in that case (Assuming its not a bad cable) is the "phono" plug.. Make sure it's snapped in tight... I've had my come lose on several occasions and thought I had a problem when in fact it was just not plugged in tight. (to the adaptor, not the adaptor plugged into the radio)

Serial number shows up on the Main Menu, connection is good. I even tested my trainer port which is ok.
So I am stuck with a defective cable? Checked for any physical damage but did not see any.
Wait to see what OMP says.

Thanks
Pete

Yes, it is possible for the Interface to be defective. They are replacing any defective cables and your warranty on the cable is good forever if it breaks or is damaged.

This is happening in cold weather areas due to static electricity.

But then again ... it could be something else. Have you tried more then 1 radio?

Dion,

I tried two different radios with no luck, I also tested both trainer ports using a trainer cable and they worked ok. It is pretty cold and dry up here in Northern Canada.

What would I have to do to get mine repaired or replaced?

Thanks
Pete

You have to call Ikarus as we do not stock the replacements.

239-690-0003, they will tell you what to do.

Do you have G2 controller or FMS cable in the meantime?

Thanks Dion

No I don't have G2 or FMS cable so I guess I am dead in the water.
I hope it does not take to long to get a replacement.

Just to let you guys know that I need to send my cable to Florida for exchange. That means I will be without AFPD until I get a new cable. A spare would be handy. I would also recommend insulating the unused transmitter connector to avoid a static shock to your cables.
