it's actually hard to say it's upside down since it's already moving and acting like it has been in a crash before i even get a chance to touch the controls.
From what i can tell it looks like the copter is upside down on start and then spins on its' blades or bounces around and lands on its' side...does anyone know how to fix it?

Yes,
although I could not reproduce this, I thought it needed some rework.
It's finished now and I will publish the AFPD version tonight at my homepage.
