I thought I should start a New Thread because I complained about my AFPD cable in several threads.
Here was my original problem. I recieved my AFPD a couple weeks ago and the Sim fails to detect all 5 Channels for my Hitec Flash 5sx. It only detects two channels. I contacted Mike at IKarus USA and he said send the cable back. Within a Week I had a new Updated cable waiting for me at my door which was yesterday. I installed the Cable on a free USB port on my computer and Plugged my TX into the Interface cable. Well guess what! I still have the same problem. Two channels are only detected. Another problem is I do not have another TX to see if its a problem with my Hitec Flash 5sx or the Cable. The odds are with two cables I have tried now it appears its a strange problem with my Flash 5sx TX. The next Plan is to Purchase a basic 4 Channel TX dedicated to fly the Sim only. What this means is another week without a Full Functioning SIM. I still fly the Sim with two Channels. The two channels I have is Rudder and Elevator. So what I did is Mixed Aileron to the Rudder Channel and Elevator channel was left alone. Throttle is on Keyboard #3 and Rudder is on Keyboard 4-6. Atleast I can fly the sim and play with different airplanes and Sceneries. Even though with the Problems which might not be a Sim problems I still Love my AFPD. I even have flown in cockpit and felt a little Motion Sickness. Ha Ha.
Let me add Dion (STLPilot) OMP and Mike (IKarus USA) have been very helpful.
I will post a follow up when I get a new TX. Thanks for reading my Story.

Before you purchase a 4 channel radio ... you should think about something with a bit more ummmph if your planning to stay in the hobby. The radio is the 2nd most important piece of the hobby after a flight sim. The prices have all come down too. So before you waste $99 on something that you are going to upgrade at a later date ... let us help you find a good radio that will last long in to you TOC career days.
Let us know your budget and we'll get you into a good radio.

What I would like to do is Purchase a TX only. I do not see TX's on the OMP Web Site. Should I just call or shoot an E-mail to OMP of my needs.

Hello
I have aerofly pro and a Robbe/Futaba F14 radio.
It is connected to my pc via a 9 pin serial to a trainer module
on the radio. Downloaded patch, remove crystal, turn on radio,
and it worked fine. Second time was a no go, the cable was not
making a good connection to the radio. (see pic).My questions
are;since I am in Germany, can I get a replacement cable with-
out having to mail everything to the states? And what would I
have to do to upgrade to DELUXE; costs, trade ins etc...?
Thanks in advance

Hello
I don´t have access to another radio, but am pretty certain
that the problem lies with the cable connection at the tx.
On the 3rd attempt I wiggled the connection at the tx and
got it to work. further attempts were however, fruitless.
How do I go about upgrading here in Germany?

Well I happy to Say Im in AFPD Heaven.
I purchased a used Futaba FP-7UAP for a pretty cheap Price and It works very well with AFPD. Dion the AFPD Cable does not fix Airtronic Radios. I'm not a fan of Airtronic Radio's either but I wanted something to Work. I would love to have Purchase a Nice New Futaba 9C radio but just couldn't justify the funds at the Moment. My Hitec Flash 5sx is serving me well at the moment. Some day I will upgrade though.
You know what else is working with my AFPD is now Im getting motor sound and music sound. Before I was only getting motor sound. I think the Reinstall of of AFPD fixed my Sound Issues.
Let me say AFPD Rocks the House. I spent 90 minutes on it this morning and sure am loving it. Besides all the headachs with the sim which was more like it was my TX problems it was money well spend. I can tell it is helping my flying skills in many ways.
I was blaming the cable for my Problems and it wasn't the fact. Sorry IKARUS for all the bad cable slamming I did.
Happy flying all and thanks for the help.
