Game Commander Problem
Hi everybody,
I just purchase the AFPD with Game Commander USB, and it´s realy amazing and realistic, but during the flights, some intermittent and involuntary movements happen mostly from elevator that confuses the sequencies that I am carrying through, what it can be this?
Regards All.

RE: Game Commander Problem
Does this happen with different Airplanes? Also I not sure if you have to do this with the Game Commander, but have you calibrated the Controller?

RE: Game Commander Problem
Hi David,
Yes with different airplanes. And I did calibrations a lot of times during my tests, including re installations of the program.
It´s intriguing because I Fly the AFPD with my old Futaba transmitter with a interface that I used to play my Real Flight and the problem don´t happens.
Cassio.

RE: Game Commander Problem
Hello,
I have the same problem. This takes place with all the planes and, sometimes also on ailerons.
Did you find a solution?
Best regards.

Hello Dunaman,
Thank you for your answer.
Has IKARUS already replaced the game commander? If yes, the problem is it disappeared?
Best regards

Mine does the same thing. Flying along and all of the sudden a blip of elevator, or something. The plane jumps up then flys on? I think they have a bug in the program or??? would like to know.

RE: Game Commander Problem
Exactly, but I already ordered the problem to they resolve, because I just finished to buy my simulator. I wait that they return me the controller functioning or at the very least they send me back an interface which I can use with my own radio.

RE: Game Commander Problem
I've not heard about any problems with Commander glitching until now.
But Ikarus will replace any defective box if you believe that is the problem. They handle all the warranty replacements direct.
Call Mike at 239-690-0003.

RE: Game Commander Problem
Hey that's exactely my problem also. Just got AFPD and same uncommanded brief but frequent elevators movements. Got trough many calibration routines but to no avail. Contacted the French rep he says he never heard of
such problems... I find bizarre as in this thread only they are as many as 5 differents persons with the same problem, so it seems to be a recurrent one. Did anybody having this problem found a solution ? Replacing the Game
Commander, switching to use a G3 controller or any other TX using the Interface cable ?

RE: Game Commander Problem
I called!, 'Calibrate in XP' they said. I did, same problem, (I knew it would be) Then they wanted me to 'test on another computer'. I did, same problem. It just keeps getting worse. I figure I have at least a hundred hours on the controller.
Time to box it and ship it. I hope they do th VTOC again for the people that have been battling this.

RE: Game Commander Problem
Hi all,
I have the same problem with the controls jumping all over the place and can not calibrate.
I use the USB version and a Futaba 9C Tx on my BenQ Laptop with 1500Mhz CeleronM CPU and Radeon 9600 built into the motherboard.
My AFPro version works without a problem.
For AFPD, I have the new cable, downloaded the latest drivers I could find, Uninstall AFPD, defrag, reinstall. I get good frame rates of 100 to 200 FPS depending on field and aircraft, smoke etc..
ANYHOW, I was getting totally frustrated by not being able to calibrate or fly.
I noticed that the when I put my Tx down the red bars stopped flicking, when I touched the sticks the bars were OK BUT when I touched the metal body part of the Tx the bars jumped all over.
For the moment my solution has been to make a wire with 2 alligator clips. 1 clip on the Tx Antenna and the other grounding on metal on my Laptop.
The bars are steady, I can calibrate and fly. I hope it stays this way as AFPD is worth the effort to attach the extra wire when I hook up my Tx.
You should try this "grounding" experiment and see if it works for you.
Jeff
