Default Considering AFPD

I have a computer with the AMD Athlon XP Barton processor. The video card is an ATI Radeon 9000 with 64MB DDR. I have 1GB main memory. Is this adequate to run AFPD? Also, I want to control it with a JR 652. Will this combination work and give good performance with the simulator?

Thanks,

Craig

It's marginal ... very low. The 9000 is a 5-6 year old video card. That will most likely need upgrading.

Now we do offer the 15 days trial ... but 80% chance you'll need to upgrade.

Thanks, STLPilot.

What would you recommend upgrading to without spending any more than necessary?

A good card that will not break you is ATI 9700 TX Raedon. You can get them for just over $100.

128 MB.

Thanks, STLPilot.

Do you know of a location where I can get the 9700 XT at that price? I tried newegg.com, but they are not near $100. The 9600 XT was just under $100. Would that work well?

Thanks for your help. I really do want to get the AFD simulator, so I will upgrade as necessary.

Also, I have a Soundblaster that is 4-5 years old. Will that work OK or do I need to upgrade that too?

m8, 9600xt is much much better than 9700.
9700 is the old series, 9600 is the new series (the old one but newer that 9700)
all radeon based systems are based on the best of the old series.
x200 is based on 9200xt. x600 on 9600xt and x800 on 9800xt.

9600xt is better then 9700 in many ways.
i'de prefer it, its newer also.
but, why not buy 6600gt?
its 200$ (or less) and much much better
