Hi,
I have been using AFPD for some time now with a JR 3810 (aka 8103 in USA) with great success. I've now moved to a JR 9X V2 (aka 9303 in USA) and the interface doesn't 'see' the radio (but it still works fine on my 3810 if I plug it in). I notice that if I half push in the plug it sees the radio momentarily but I can't hold it still enough to work it correctly.
I'm thinking that I need the JR micro adaptor although I'm not sure why it works with my 3810 but not with the 9X. To be honest I didn't realise there was a JR micro adaptor until now.
So to my questions:
1. Why can I use a 3810 but not a 9X V2?
2. Can you tell where I might buy this cable in Australia?
3. Can I get specs to make muy own cable up?
Appreciate anysupport you are able to provide.
All the best, Simon

I'm not sure where you can get the cable in AUS, but we have it.
Shipping is $9.95 plus the cord.

No problem.
The reason why this happened on JR is that they must have changed suppliers or changed the tolerances on the DSC port jack. Until JR came out with new models the cables worked fine and were universal for JR and other type ports with 1/8" jacks.
On our checkout page we recommend all JR users to purchase the cable because eventually, like in your case, all JR users are going to own a new JR radio eventually. It's worth the extra $9.95 to throw in the box.

Many thanks to both of you for your thoughts. Subsequent to my last post I thought about it further and noted that if I shorted the outer two connections on the plug it worked just fine. So I soldered them together by taking the back off the plug, now it works great on my 9X and 3810.
