Default AFPD control problem

Hi all,

I hadn't used my sim for awhile and when trying to calibrate my tx (JR XP-652), I found that both full down stick and full right aileron freaks out the other controls. It used to work just fine and I fly with the tx all the time with real planes.

I've tried reducing the sim calibration travel to get it back within range (seems like it can't read it right at the end of stick movement?), switched to low rates on the tx, etc with no luck.

I then checked it in windows control panel controler setup and using the raw number readout option, see something like a low teen number value at full left or full up and then it goes to 246 near full right or full down but with any further right or down stick movement the values go straight to 140 solid and the rudder deflects and other odd effects take place.

Anyone have a clue on this? bad interface? setup wrong? Something need a reset?

Thanks,

Ken

I have the EXACT same problem.
It used to work fine, now I need to re-calibrate it every 10 minutes or so.

Does recalibrating help? I can't seem to get the values below the breakoff threshold. Come to think of it I did increase my travel in my radio recently. Will have to put it back and see if that's the problem. Maybe the interface, computer, or sim can't deal with "values" coming from the radio of more that 100%.

I would think that the experts here would have jumped in with some advice by now.

Like I said, re-calibrating helps for about 10 minutes or so....and then the same crap starts again.

The heli or plane jumps all over the place, and the sim is pretty much useless after that.

...or until I re-cal again.

Grrrrrrrrrr!!!

I don't think we have the same problem as I reduced the travel in my TX down to 100 from 125 and it's within the allowable range now. I recalibrated in control panel, then in the sim and all is well in pixel-land again.

My guess is that your problem is computer related. Maybe try a joystick and see if it drifts out of calibration also which would eliminate your TX. Also maybe delete the driver and reinstall it. That's all I can think of but I'm no expert.

Good idea,

I presume you mean the USB Commander driver?

Hmmm....where did that driver even come from? It just appeared in my XP control panel.

I wonder if they have an updated driver for that.

I will have to check into that.

Thanks for the thought.

I believe it gets loaded when you install the program? It's been awhile since I installed mine but the driver says Ikarus in control panel so that would make sense. There's an update to the program somewhere also you may want to try as it might update the driver as well? (where are those experts anyway....probably flying!)

I did the update a while ago.

I just don't get it.

Maybe I will just buy the adapter for my JR XP6102 and see if that works.

Although I don't know if I want to waste the $40.
