Default Equalizing roll rate on AFPD

I have several airplanes that roll faster one way than they do the other. There is the same amount of deflection on both ailerons. What am I missing ?[&o] Oh and I should say I am using the Game Commander not a real transmitter.

Hi Gungadin, did you experience higher roll rate with left or right aileron? Which models are you referring to?

Mike--I found that using the game commander if I have to use the aileron trim on the game commander to keep the wings level, it affects the roll rate being equal. If I center the trim then the roll rate is equal, but the airplane won't fly hands off level. I noticed it on a couple of airplanes and the one I have been flying lately is the Quique Yak 54. I am practicing IMAC manuevers and I start by trimming the airplane to fly hands off straight and level by using the trims on the game commander. If I use my Futaba 9C can I get away from this problem ?

Hi Gungadin, before you calibrate your game commander in AFPD, center the trims of all the channels.

Mike -- I have centered the trims when I calibrate but there always seems to be some adgustment needed to get the airplane to fly hands off traaight & level so some trim adjustment is required. Aileron trim adjustment is giving me different roll rates left vs right. Will I still have this situation if I use My Futaba 9C Transmitter ?

Gungadin, I have flown the QQ Yak54 using my 9C and I did not face any issues. Do you have a slave cable and a Futaba adapter? Try it on your 9C and see if you face a similar problem. Pls note that before you calibrate your 9C, center all the trims and disable all program mixes. If you're using dual rates, calibrate at high rates. Don't forget to set the radio to PPM mode.

Mike--I have an adapter on the way. I should have it in a few days. When I get it I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for your help !

Hi Gungadin, I assume you have the game controller version of AFPD? If you plan to use your 9C with this version, you will need to get a slave cable and a futaba adapter. You will still need to plug in the game controller to your PC (due to the copy protection key), and the slave cable into another unused usb port.

Mike--Things work much much better with either my JR or my Futaba transmitter connected as opposed to using the Game Commander. When using the game commander the airplanes are jittery and twitchy, but not with a "real" transmitter hooked up. Things are much better. I think there may be some quality issues with the game commander.

The pots in the GC is not as good as what you find in your real Tx. That's why I highly recommend the interface version. However, you can still hook up your Tx with the GC version, only thing is you'll need the extra slave cable and adapter, plus a free usb port.

Yes Mike I have the cable and adapter and have been using the sim for a couple of days now with two different transmitters, one JR & one Futaba. Things work so much better than with the GC. Now I wish I would have purchased the interface version instead of the GC version. But at least I'm set up now and I'm happy with the way things are working. Oh I've been meaning to ask you about some airplanes parameters not being adjustable and going to a default setting. For example if I try to lower the weight of the fuselage or the engine in an airplane it won't take the new numbers but goes back to a previous number. Any suggestions.

Gungadin, when you have made any changes in the aircraft paramaters, you need to save it. I would recommend that you save it to a different model name, so that you retain the original model and parameters.
