Default Helicopter, realistic flight question

I fly both helicopters and fixed wing. I purchased Aerofly pro deluxe because it is suppose to be the most realistic for fixed wing. However I have been flying helicopters for two years now and have become more interested in helicopters than fixed wing. I now use Aerofly more for helicopters than fixed wing.

From what I have read Aerofly does not fly as realisticly with helicopters as some of the other flight simulators
For my style of flying, flips, loops, very mild 3D, it seams pretty realistic.

Can someone give me an opinion on Aerofly for helicopters? What is not as realistic about it?

Does no one have an answer for me?
Should I have posted this in another forum?

Hi Greg, which heli model(s) do you fly in AFPD?

Thanks, rajul

I fly mostly the Eco 8 brushless, Ikarus viper 90, and the Raptor.

I do realize Aerofly is the best for fixed wing. Don't get me wrong, I think Aerofly is great. I just want to know why it is not considered the best for Heli's. I am hoping you will tell me the Heli physics are better than I have been led to believe.

Also I got impatient and asked this quetion on another site. Here is the link, if you are interested in what they had to say.

Default RE: Helicopter, realistic flight question

While in forward flight a helicopter generates transisional lift which Realflight, reflex, and phoenix simulate quite well but apparently aerofly doesnt simulate it at all. I personally use aerofly pro deluxe, I've got realflight g3 but I personally think its the biggest load of crap Ive ever used. But thats just my honest opinion. A million and 1 people are gonna disagree but each to their own really. P.S. where did ya get the ikarus viper 90? I dont have that one although I must have 30 or more heli's. I dont fly fixed wing, I'm purely a heli man practicing my 3d moves.

Happy Flying

Hi Aero, the Ikarus Viper 90 can be found in Addon 1, if my memory is correct

aeroflipz,

The Viper 90 was just there, probably in the addon 1 like rajul mentioned.

I have been flying Helicopters a lot on Aerofly. I have to say that the lack of the transitional lift simulation bugs the heck out of me. I hope this does not mess me up when I get to flying the real helis again this spring. I do think though that flying the aerofly simulator is going to make me a much better heli pilot.
