Hey Everybody,
Just was curious who all was planning to attend the Triple Tree IMAC Classic on August 9th and 10th 2003 at Triple Tree Aerodrome in SC. This is an AMA sanctioned event. For those that haven't been there, this is the site of the world famous Joe Nall, and Don Lowe Masters Tournament, as well as many other great events. If you need more info., you can visit www.mini-iac.com and click on SE Region and goto contest calendar and click on the event. Last year was the first annual event for this meet, and the Confederate Air Farce and crew will be putting on another great meet. They will be having a BYOS (Bring Your Own Steak) dinner friday night where we bring our own steaks and the CAF provides the salad and potatoes. Free drinks will be provided both days at the event and there will be a BBQ dinner on Saturday night before the Unknowns are handed out. This is a great event and one you won't want to miss. A big thankyou goes to Pat Hartness and the Confederate Air Farce for inviting us back again this year! See you there.

I know two guys from our club will be going. I was going to be the third, but I have a plane to pick up that weekend so I will not be making it. One will be flying Intermediate, and the other will be in Sportman.

Ah, that is the question ! CCRC is no fun for big planes anymore. Conley is soooo far away. To rephrase, Atlanta sucks for IMAC. I've even had the fire department chewin' on my ass at Conley for flying over SR-20.

We need to find a financially well endowed pilot to buy some land north or west of Atlanta and start up a field.

John, CCRC will be great for practicing center box maneuvers, and nothing else. Too much no-fly zone and way too restrictive sound limits. I can see me letting my membership lapse. I hardly ever fly there anymore. I go out on Sundays, help a few people, chat to the folks, but rarely fly there anymore.

Pugsley,
I went up to Bartow. It's really no better than CCRC. The no-fly zone is on the left instead of right, plus you're limited straight out in front too. The worst part is the sun is almost always in front of you. They hope for cloudy days there.
When I'm sure my plane problems are ironed out, and I get another car to drive to work, I plan on joining the Conley club for practice. It's a 70 minute drive, vs. almost 2 hrs. to Chattanooga. It would be about the same for you.

I have invited you down several times but you are always busy. I will be in Indy next weekend and I am trying to get a couple of the guys to fly on Saturday Aug 8. If you are not at Tripple Tree, then come on over!

Jon, when are you getting back to Atlanta ?
You can come with me to Conley anytime. Once you fly there, CCRC will seem tiny.

I will be arriving Thursday afternoon, and will be looking forward to meeting everyone that shows up. I will not be flying this year, but will just be glad to be there, to see some of the best flying that is going on in the Southeast.
Looking forward to meeting all of you, and I have the cold beer in MY fridge......!

Either way, it's still 20 or 30 miles farther than Conley. That's too bad, because the flying area is virtually unlimited, and there's nothing around to chop up the wind and cause turbulence. Even 15-20 mph winds are not a problem. It's a very nice place to fly.

This can't be Conley you are talking about. It is big, but you still have the soccer field and the recycle center. WE cannot fly over these areas!

I am sure ONE of these days we will hook up.
I am leaving Thursday night for GA. I will be back in Indy the week after Triple Tree. I'll be moving back to GA for good at the end of Sept.
See you....

I'm up a little late winding down...had to take care of alot of last minute odds and ends. Hope your feeling alot better now C, and hope that vision is better than was before!
I'll see you down there. I'll be getting there tomorrow before noon sometime. Hopefully around 10ish am. If you want to hang out under our canopy you are more than welcome. I'll help you in any way I can. Remember...this is just a fun fly...were gonna go out there and just fly a sequence of manuevers that just happens to have an order to them...that's all there is to it...just loops and rolls...remember? I'll see ya saturday...gotta get the rest of my messages, and hit the hay.
