Turboprop
#1

Hey guys, I have a question for anyone with turboprop knowledge. I gave a couple of 37% and 40% IMAC airframes not doing anything and I was thinking of installing a turboprop in one. I fly lots of jets, but don’t have turboprop experience and am trying to determine the appropriate size engine and propeller for something like this. Let me know if you have any recommendations.

I am sure that you have seen the videos with a turboprop, so it is being done. I would think calling one of the turboprop manufactures would help get the specifics for the project, since no one has answered here for a couple days. Also, I see this is in IMAC, maybe move this to Jets Forums for more of the turbine experienced guys. This one is actually under Giant Scale

Good Luck!

Duraflame, I would think the Kingtech 100 turboprop engine would be suitable for your application. I am currently using that engine in a SM 1/4scale PC-21 spinning a five blade propeller with a 24 inch diameter and a 23.5 inch pitch. Not sure what diameter/pitch you would need for your model, but I would think the Kingtech 100 tp engine would spin a two blade 32x12 prop without a problem. You might check with Barry, or Dirk at Kingtech, USA for additional information.
