years ago (1997) I framed up a 60 size Raven from Global hobbies.I finally was able to complete the kit this year.I have never seen one fly or had a chance to discuss this kit with anybody.I am bolting on a 91 surpass and have changed the wing to dual aileron servos, pull pull rudder and split elevator.seems a little heavy, but is intended for sport scale aerobatics only.Any feedbacks on this project and what to expect in the air would be greatly appreciated.Have flown Sukhoi and Caps in the past.

gLAD TO HEAR THERES ANOTHER one about to go in the air!!I have one of these and I have to say it flies awsome! The plane is fairly heavy.Ibelive mine is about 7lb.So instead of the four stroke,I went with the Super Tigre G90.Used a four stroke engine mount.the motor is two inches away from the firewall. They designed the plane two inches too short so the snap tendences you will hear about stem from that!I heard four strokes tend to make the plane nose heavy so watch out for that. This plane likes to be balance dead on!!On the main spar at the root. But once the plane is dialed in.It will track so nice,No input inverted for me!!!Which makes for an easy time flying sequences.

I am glad to see this thread. I do not have any experience on the Raven, but saw one for sale on Ebay once, and missed the bid on it (got outbid by $1) due to the fact bidding ended like 3 am, and I had to goto work. I thought the plane looked very sharp, and searched head over heels for a dealer on the net. Global no longer makes the kits, Is this due to it being a bad design? And I have not been able to find anyone that has them in stock, or even has a set of plans for them. If any of you know someone whom still sells them, please post it here.

Hey thanks guys.
In regards to balancing,my plans completely omit this, ouch!
Do I balance this aircraft on the spar in the upright position? So far it balances right on with the surpass, prop and spinner mounted. The motor is in tonight and the cowl is trimmed, linkages are done, fuel tank ready.Final sand and a few nights of covering.
It looks like it will be something a little different at the field, from the usual popular birds.
I imagine rolls are nice and lomcevaks should be cool.Little heavy for knife-edge but it may surprise me.How are landings with this Raven? Fly it in with some power on until a few inches off the runway? or will it float? I had an overweight cap 21 before, but at high idle I could walk it in nicely (had aft CG).hoping to fly it in four weeks.
