31% Columbo Anderson Extra or H9 33% CAP for IMAC and 3D
I have narrowed my choices down to either the H9 33% CAP or the CA 31% extra for IMAC and 3D. The engine I am going to use is the 3W75. I think I can probably get the CAP weight down to about 21-22 lbs. For the CA I think 19-20 lbs is reasonable. Anyone have any opinions on which one flies better for IMAC and 3D.

The Extra will be better at the sequences and the CAP better at 3D
My handle is a combination of Extra and CAP. Have them both.
Piloting skills (practice) will have more effect on placement with either of these planes.

Make sure you get the supersonic muffler for the 3W-75. It gets about 300 more rpm than the J&A muffler.
I fly the cap with a 3W-75 and I love it for IMAC, you wont have a problem. no bad characteristics. Just keep it a light as you can with this engine and you will love it(put a paper control pannel instead of a plastic/wood one, and cf landing gear if you can). 21 lbs might be a hard reach but it can be done. The engine seems to like the Menz 26-10 the most.
Im sure the extra is an awesome plane though so it is up to you.

I agree with EXCAP - they are both fine planes and will do it all. The Extra is a bit better for precision and the CAP a bit better for extreme 3D - but either will do you good if you get out there and burn lots of fuel !! Just do not push it to hard and keep it FUN ! We like to mix in IMAC and then have a blast doing 3D. Have FUN ! Rod & Chris in PA.
