Talk about a first-place prize!
I know you guys are not the combat types, but you might be interested in flying just one meet this year. Check out the [link=http://www.southwestcombat.com/duel_over_desert1.htm]Southwest Combat website.[/link] Then scroll down to see what I think could be the ultimate prize for a first-place finish. RE: Talk about a first-place prize!
Well, in a way it IS related to IMAC... sorta. We flew two classes this weekend, Open-B and SSC. Bill Hempel Jr. (this was the IMAC connection, by the way) took 1st place in both classes, so he was awarded TWO rides in the Extra. He immediately donated one of the two to Mic, the CD of this event. Very generous, that is certain.
Now, the post-flight debrief went something like this: "Wow. Dang. I gotta get with my banker, I NEED one of these!" [8D]
From what I heard the flights included all the loops, inverted flight, rolls and point-rolls you could handle. The g-meters in the cockpits recorded positive 5 G's and negative 2 G's during the flights. Quite a workout, I imagine.
Sometime during the week their faces should become normal again, and the smiles will be a little more subdued than they are right now.
